Jeremy Sicile-Kira’s Graduation Speech
Jeremy graduated from Torrey Pines High School with a 3.70 GPA on June 18, 2010. Jeremy has the label of autism with little verbal speech and gave this commencement address using voice output technology. His father, Jim Sicile, shot and edited this short movie.

Well, this made me cry. I wonder what he’s doing now? The hardest part must be the lack of friendship – I noticed how he said that was the most difficult. High school is hard enough for the non-handicapped IMO so his achievement is even more so for that fact. It must have been a hugely proud moment for his parents. I noticed how he had several other family members there (more than my own kids get to their events!) and it made me think how I can strengthen bonds between our family members to create a solid, supportive unit like that.

Great Question Alison. I too hope Jeremy has a full life with lots of friends. Actually, that would be an even more unusual and amazing speech.
